Sikkim Sub-Junior Boxing Team Departs for National Championship

The future of Sikkim Sub-Junior Boxing is looking brighter than ever. A talented contingent of 18 young boxers from the state has departed for Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, ready to make their mark at the 4th Sub-Junior (U-15) National Boxing Championship 2025.

The team, which includes 10 promising boys and 8 skilled girls, boarded from Siliguri on August 4th. They are set to compete in the prestigious tournament scheduled from August 6th to 14th at Galgotias University. After months of intense and rigorous training, these young athletes are eager to showcase their talent on the national stage.

Sikkim’s Young Pugilists Eye National Glory

This championship is a massive opportunity for Sikkim’s budding talent. It serves as a crucial platform for identifying and nurturing boxers at the grassroots level. The selected team represents the best of the state’s sub-junior category, and their participation highlights the growing focus on developing boxing right from a young age.

Accompanying the athletes are four officials, including experienced coaches and team managers. Their guidance will be vital in helping the young pugilists navigate the pressures of a high-stakes national event. The entire state is buzzing with hope, looking forward to seeing these boxers bring home medals.
