Sikkim Inter School Badminton Finals Underway in Gangtok

The finals of the first-ever Sikkim Inter School Badminton Championship kicked off today at the Paljor Stadium’s Indoor Badminton Court. The atmosphere is electric as the state’s most promising young shuttlers battle it out for the historic title.

The two-day championship has become a major platform for school-level talent from across Sikkim. The event was officially inaugurated this morning by Education and Sports Minister, Shri Raju Basnet, who highlighted the state’s commitment to nurturing sports from the ground up.

Also present were key figures like the Badminton Association of Sikkim President, Shri Jacob Khaling Rai, and other senior members, all showing their support for this fantastic new initiative.

 

A New Era for Sikkim Inter School Badminton

This inaugural tournament is more than just a competition; it’s a celebration of grassroots talent. By bringing together players from various schools, the championship aims to create a strong foundation for the future of badminton in Sikkim. The energy and skill on display prove that the future is indeed bright.

The grand finale tomorrow is set to be a prestigious affair, with Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang scheduled to attend. His presence is a huge source of encouragement for the young finalists, who will be aiming to make their mark in front of the state’s top leader. All eyes are now on tomorrow’s matches to see who will be crowned the first-ever champions.
