In a major opportunity for India’s top sportspersons, the Indian Army has announced recruitment for Direct Entry Havildar and Naib Subedar (Sports) under the Sports Quota Intake 04/2025. This initiative is open to unmarried Indian male and female candidates who have demonstrated exceptional performance in recognized national and international sports events after April 1, 2023.
Disciplines Open for Recruitment
Applications are invited for over 20 sports disciplines, including:
Athletics (Track & Field)
Boxing, Wrestling, Weightlifting
Swimming, Diving, Gymnastics
Football, Basketball, Hockey, Handball, Volleyball
Archery, Fencing, Shooting
Winter Sports, Triathlon, Wushu, Judo, and more.
Sports Achievements Required
For Havildar Entry:
Medalist or participant at Senior/Junior National Level, International Championships, or Khelo India Games (Youth/University).
For Naib Subedar Entry:
Medalist in Olympics, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, World Championships, or World Cup.
Representation in any two of the above major international events also qualifies.

Selection Process
Shortlisting based on sports achievements
Call-up Letters via email to shortlisted candidates
Selection Trials including:
Physical Fitness Tests (Run, Jump, Balance)
Skill Tests in respective sports
Medical Examination by Army Medical Team
