Paralympic Association of Assam Holds General Assembly, Announces New Governing Body

The Paralympic Association of Assam (PAA) successfully conducted its General Assembly Meeting at Vaani Greens, Kaziranga, on Saturday, May 24, 2025. The event witnessed the participation of over 60 members representing 22 districts across Assam, making it a significant gathering for the state’s para-sports community.

Prominent dignitaries graced the occasion, including Mr. Jayawant G. H., Secretary General of the Paralympic Committee of India, who attended as an observer. Smt. Riniki Bhuyan Sharma, the Chief Patron of PAA, was also present and extended her support and encouragement to the athletes and officials.

A major highlight of the event was the felicitation of Mr. Ababil Ali, a distinguished para-athlete and World Grand Prix Medal Winner, who was honored for his outstanding contributions to para-sports and for bringing glory to Assam at the international level.

During the meeting, the new Governing Body of the Paralympic Association of Assam for the term 2025–2029 was officially announced. The elected members are as follows:
