The Atal Bihari Vajpayee Training Centre for Disability Sports, Gwalior, operating under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, has announced selection trials for admission for the academic year 2025–26.

This unique and dedicated sports training facility for Divyang athletes aims to nurture para-athletes for excellence at the national and international levels. Selected candidates will have access to world-class training, accommodation in the hostel, and year-round coaching based on their performance during the selection trials.

Aims & Objectives of the Training Centre:

  • To establish a state-of-the-art international-level Centre of Excellence for sports for Divyang sportspersons (PwDs) with full accessibility as per norms.

  • To create specialized sports infrastructure enabling Divyang sportspersons to undergo rigorous and high-quality training.

  • To provide training facilities at par with global standards, ensuring Indian para-athletes are equipped to compete internationally.

  • To encourage greater participation of Divyangjan in sports activities, thereby empowering them to represent India on international platforms.

  • To build confidence and a sense of belonging among Divyangjan, aiding their social integration and personal development.
