The Indian men’s roll ball team clinched the bronze medal at the Oman Roll Ball Championship, held in Muscat, Oman, from September 11 to 13. In a thrilling third-place playoff, India triumphed over the host nation, Oman, with a commanding 12–5 victory. This result not only highlighted the team’s outstanding performance but also marked a significant achievement in the roll ball community.
The tournament’s final saw the Iranian team, Monsef, crowned champions of the third edition of the championship after an exciting 8–5 win over Egypt’s Smouha. Smouha settled for second place, while India’s O. Baba helped secure third for India by leading the team to victory over Oman.
Among the key players was Mayank Agarwal, who represented Assam with great pride and dedication. His remarkable contribution to the team’s success was applauded by teammates, fans, and officials alike. Miftahuddin Ahmed, President of the Assam Roll Ball Association, played an instrumental role as the team manager, guiding the squad with strong leadership.

Following the victory, Mayank Agarwal was given a hero’s welcome upon his return to Guwahati. A large group of admirers gathered at Guwahati Airport to celebrate his achievement. The Assam Roll Ball Association also extended their best wishes, acknowledging his contribution to the sport and wishing him a successful future in athletics.
This victory adds another feather to Assam’s cap and boosts the growing visibility of roll ball in the region. The performance also reflects India’s rise as a strong contender in international roll ball competitions.
