In a remarkable display of support for the growth of hockey in Arunachal Pradesh, Governor Parnaik lauded the state sports minister’s announcement regarding the establishment of Astro Turf hockey grounds in the districts. Notably, he recommended that these facilities be situated at high altitudes, allowing players to enhance their stamina and strength, ultimately boosting their performance in the sport.

The distinguished presence of Sports & Youth Affairs Minister Mama Natung, Chief Patron of Hockey Arunachal, Speaker Pasang Dorjee Sona, and Hockey Arunachal President and State Information Commissioner Gumjum Haider added further significance to the event, demonstrating their unwavering support for the tournament and the development of hockey in the state.

Bringing together eleven district contingents from Lepa Rada, West Siang, Siang, Papum Pare, Pakke Kesang, Lower Subansiri, Upper Subansiri, Kurung Kumey, Kamle, Kra Dadi, and Itanagar Capital Complex, this inaugural championship marks a pivotal milestone in the advancement of hockey in Arunachal Pradesh.

Organized by Hockey Arunachal, an esteemed affiliate of Hockey India, this championship not only provides an avenue for players to compete at the state level but also opens doors for participation in national-level competitions, allowing them to showcase their talents on a larger platform.
