The Paralympic Association of Assam, in collaboration with the Directorate of Sports & Youth Welfare, Government of Assam, organized a special Send-Off Ceremony for the Assam team participating in the 2nd Khelo India Para Games 2025. The event, which took place on March 17, 2025, marked a significant moment as athletes from Assam geared up to showcase their skills in New Delhi from March 20 to 27, 2025.
The ceremony was graced by several dignitaries, including Smt. Antara Gogoi, Joint Director, Sports & Youth Welfare, Government of Assam; Dr. Sutapa Chakrabarty, Executive Member, Paralympic Committee of India; Shri Jitu Talukdar, Independent Director of APCL; Mr. Rajib Dey, General Secretary of the Paralympic Association of Assam (PAA); and Mr. Chandan Baruah, President of PAA. The event was held to honor the athletes selected to represent Assam at the prestigious event and to send them off with immense support and well-wishes.
The ceremony also recognized the achievement of Ababil Ali, who was felicitated for winning a Silver Medal at the World Para Athletics Grand Prix 2025. Ali’s outstanding performance in the international arena has brought pride to Assam, and his recognition was a highlight of the event.
The selected athletes from Assam, who will compete in various events at the 2nd Khelo India Para Games, are as follows:
