Arunachal Para-Athletics Success Shines at Intl Championship

The stage was international, and Arunachal’s athletes delivered! The recent Arunachal para-athletics success story comes from Bengaluru, where two of our own clinched medals at the 7th International Para Athletics Championship 2025, making the entire North East proud.
This historic achievement for the state’s contingent at the championship, held from July 10th to 12th, has sent waves of excitement across the region.
Wangpan and Mero Lead the Charge
Leading the charge was the incredible Tingong Wangpan, who blazed through the competition to secure not one, but two Gold Medals. He absolutely dominated the T35 category in both the 400m and 200m sprint events, showcasing his speed and determination.
Joining him on the podium was the talented Kipa Mero. She earned a hard-fought Bronze Medal in the F13 category for her powerful performance in the Javelin Throw, proving her mettle against top international competitors.

A Testament to Arunachal Para-Athletics Success
This brilliant performance is a massive credit not only to the athletes’ relentless hard work but also to the guidance of Team Coach and the Secretary-General of the Paralympic Association of Arunachal, Shri Techi Sonu.

Ultimately, the dream is the Paralympic Games, and this performance proves that Arunachal’s para-athletes are firmly on the track to making that a reality.
