9th Hangpan Dada Memorial Trophy Concludes at Aalo Football Ground

The 9th Edition State Level Hangpan Dada Memorial Trophy concluded successfully at Aalo Football Ground, wrapping up with finals in both football and volleyball.

 

In the Girls’ Football final, East Kameng were crowned champions after beating Namsai 3-1. Sonia Rangmo opened the scoring in the 6th minute, with Mema Keno adding a second in the 26th minute. Namsai responded through Osi Pegu just before halftime, but Rangmo sealed the win with her second goal in the 56th minute. East Kameng took home a cash prize of ₹2,00,000 along with trophies and medals, while runners-up Namsai received ₹1,00,000. Yanyang Samyor of Shi Yomi was named Best Player in Girls’ Football, earning ₹15,000.

 

Capital Complex won the Girls’ Volleyball final in a tight three-set match against Keyi Panyor, 25-22, 20-25, 15-9, picking up ₹1,00,000 in prize money. Runners-up Keyi Panyor received ₹75,000, while Capital Complex’s Teresa Yangfo was named Best Player and awarded ₹15,000.

 

In the Boys’ Volleyball final, Kurung Kumey edged Upper Subansiri 25-22, 22-25, 15-10 to take the title and ₹1,00,000, while runners-up Upper Subansiri received ₹75,000. Upper Subansiri’s Popmar Bulo was named Best Player in Boys’ Volleyball.

 

The marquee Boys’ Football final, played during the closing ceremony, finished level at 1-1 after regular time before Papum Pare won it on penalties, 4-3. Papum Pare collected ₹2,00,000 along with trophies and medals, while runners-up received ₹1,00,000. Tai Raju of Papum Pare was adjudged Best Player in Boys’ Football.
