Meghalaya Inter School Cricket League Kicks off with an Exciting Match between St. Anthony’s School and The Shillong Secondary School

The 2022/2023 Inter School Cricket League commenced with a thrilling match between St. Anthony’s School and The Shillong Secondary School at the local cricket ground on Tuesday. The toss was won by St. Anthony’s School, who elected to bat first.

In the 1st innings, St. Anthony’s School set a target of 88 runs with 10 wickets down in 15 overs. Trejosh was the top scorer with 18 runs off 28 balls, followed by Ayush with 7 runs off 12 balls. Shewam from The Shillong Secondary School was the star bowler, taking 3 wickets for 10 runs in 3 overs, while Sumit claimed 2 wickets for 14 runs in 3 overs.

In reply, The Shillong Secondary School showed great determination and chased down the target with ease, scoring 89 runs without losing any wickets in just 11 overs. Badal was the standout batsman, scoring an impressive 24 runs off 30 balls, while Shewam contributed with 18 runs off 25 balls. Abhinav from St. Anthony’s School took 1 wicket for 12 runs in 2 overs, and Trejosh also took 1 wicket for 20 runs in 2 overs.

Badal’s exceptional performance with the bat earned him the well-deserved title of Man of the Match. His composed innings of 24 runs helped The Shillong Secondary School secure a convincing victory by 8 wickets.
