The event showcased exceptional performances from both the girls’ and boys’ teams, resulting in thrilling matches and surprising outcomes that left spectators on the edge of their seats.
In the girls’ volleyball matches, Changlang emerged victorious in a fierce battle against Lower Siang. The final scores stood at 15/25, 25/21, 15/7 in favor of Changlang, showcasing their resilience and ability to stage a remarkable comeback. The girls from Changlang exhibited great teamwork and determination, displaying their skills on the court.
Papum Pare, on the other hand, exhibited their dominance by defeating Upper Siang in straight sets. The scores of 25/15, 25/12 reflected Papum Pare’s exceptional teamwork and efficient execution of tactics, leaving their opponents struggling to match their level of play.
In an unexpected turn of events, Kra Daadi secured a walkover victory against Pakke Kessang as the latter was unable to field a team for the match. This provided Kra Daadi’s players with an opportunity to rest and conserve their energy for future challenges in the tournament.
Lower Subansiri demonstrated their prowess and formidable skills, overpowering Dibang Valley with an impressive scoreline of 25/13, 25/13. Lower Subansiri’s exceptional performance left their opponents struggling to match their level of play, highlighting their dominance on the court.
Shi Yomi put on a spectacular show, defeating West Kameng in two gripping sets. The scores of 25/21, 25/18 highlighted Shi Yomi’s ability to maintain consistency and capitalize on crucial moments, ultimately securing them the victory.
In another intense match, Anjaw emerged victorious against Namasai. The match was closely contested, with Anjaw clinching the win with scores of 27/25, 25/17. Anjaw’s perseverance and ability to remain composed under pressure played a significant role in securing their victory.
In the boys’ volleyball matches, the results are as follows:
- Lohit competed against East Siang, with Lohit emerging as the winners with scores of 25/16, 25/13.
- Anjaw faced Tirap, and Anjaw secured victory with scores of 18/25, 20/25.
- Kra Daadi played against Kamle, and Kamle claimed a decisive win with scores of 25/0, 25/0.
- The match between Capital Complex and Siang did not report the results from either team.
- Lower Siang went head-to-head with Lower Subansiri, and Lower Subansiri emerged victorious with scores of 25/18, 20/25, 15/7.

In the boys’ football quarter-finals, the competition was equally fierce. The first quarter-final match witnessed an intense clash between Siang and Changlang. Siang emerged triumphant with a final score of 5-2. Hanu Tari, wearing the number 7 jersey for Siang, stole the show with an exceptional hat-trick, scoring at the 3rd, 11th, and 19th minutes of the game. Tani Tasing (number 11) and Lucky Tabing (number 12) also contributed to Siang’s victory, each scoring a goal at the 31st and 40th minutes, respectively. Chommi Ngemu (number 7) from Changlang managed to find the back of the net at the 35th minute, scoring the team’s first goal. Jaklee Boo (number 11) added to Changlang’s tally with a goal at the 42nd minute. Hanu Tari’s outstanding performance earned him the well-deserved title of Man of the Match.
In the second quarter-final match, East Kameng clashed with East Siang. East Kameng emerged victorious with a scoreline of 2-0. Arjun Sonam (number 7) and Ato Tania Liyak (number 8) showcased their goal-scoring prowess, netting goals at the 19th and 35th minutes, respectively. East Kameng’s Mambo Toma displayed exceptional skills throughout the game and was rightfully awarded the Man of the Match title.
The third quarter-final match witnessed a face-off between Papum Pare and Lohit. Papum Pare secured a 2-0 victory, courtesy of goals scored by Tana Dani (number 9) and Techi David (number 12) at the 19th and 42nd minutes, respectively. Techi David’s overall outstanding performance earned him the recognition of being declared the Man of the Match.
In the final quarter-final match, West Siang locked horns with Kra Daadi in a thrilling encounter. West Siang emerged as the victors with a scoreline of 2-1. Ngater Bogo (number 14) showcased his goal-scoring abilities by netting two crucial goals for West Siang. On the other side, Techi Sakyan (number 11) displayed skill and determination, managing to score one goal for Kra Daadi. Baken Gamlin, wearing the West Siang jersey, was declared the Man of the Match for his exceptional contribution to the team’s victory.
On June 4th, the highly anticipated Hangpan Dada Memorial Trophy will feature the first boys’ semi-final match at the SLSA Ground. The thrilling encounter will take place between Siang and East Kameng, kicking off at 1:30 PM. Spectators can expect an intense battle as both teams showcase their skills and compete for a spot in the tournament’s grand finale.
