On Saturday, the Shooting Association of Meghalaya conducted its annual general meeting and elected new office bearers who will serve a four-year term until 2027. The National Rifle Association of India appointed Bhaba Kalita, an International Shooting Sport Federation judge, as the returning officer, while the observer was Meghalaya State Olympic Association General Secretary Finely L Pariat.
Although there were no nominations filed for the executive posts, the election was still held as a formality. All the names were proposed, seconded, and unanimously elected by the attendees of the meeting. Additionally, five executive members were elected.
John F Kharshiing will continue to serve as the President of SAM, and Neil Sootinck will remain as the General Secretary. The SAM Executive Body for 2023-27 includes Bobby Wahlang and Davis NR Marak as Vice-Presidents, Dominic Sutnga as Treasurer, Jeffery W Sooting as Secretary, Dawooii Suiam as Organising Secretary, Nickolas JJ Nongkhlaw as Publicity Secretary, Ashok Singhania as Assistant Treasurer, Kupar Blah as Training Secretary, and Ranjit Singh, Marbrishisha Mylliempdah, Christina Kharbuli, Anjali Singh, and Balarishisha Rani as Executive Members.
