Suriti Ray Shines as Shillong Cricket Association (SCA) Clinches Victory in Women’s Cricket League Match Against SCA (B)
The Women’s Cricket League for the 2022/2023 season kicked off with an exciting match between SCA (A) and SCA (B). The toss was won by SCA (A), and they elected to field first.
In the 1st innings, SCA (B) managed to score 58 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Chandani Kumari was the top scorer with 21 runs off 36 balls, followed by Ankita Sharma who scored 10 runs off 23 balls. The bowlers from SCA (A) put up an impressive performance, with Suriti Ray and Solina Jaba both taking 2 wickets each. Suriti Ray bowled 4 overs, giving away only 8 runs and taking 2 wickets, while Solina Jaba bowled 4 overs, conceding 8 runs and also taking 2 wickets.
In reply, SCA (A) chased down the target with ease, scoring 61 runs for the loss of just 1 wicket in 7.2 overs, securing a victory by 9 wickets. Suriti Ray, who had earlier performed with the ball, was the star of the match as she scored an impressive 31 runs off 27 balls. Mansi Anand also contributed with 11 runs off 19 balls. Natasha Rabha and Jayshree Kumari were the bowlers from SCA (B), but they were unable to stop the onslaught from SCA (A).
Suriti Ray was rightly awarded the Man of the Match for her all-round performance. She scored 31 runs off 27 balls and also bowled 4 overs, giving away only 8 runs and taking 2 wickets.
WKHDA Triumphs Over SWKDA in an Exciting Women’s Cricket League Encounter
In another thrilling match of the Women’s Cricket League, WKHDA took on SWKDA after winning the toss and electing to bat first.
In the 1st innings, WKHDA posted a competitive total of 132 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Abiser was the top scorer with 46 runs off 37 balls, while Dubleen contributed 16 runs off 21 balls. The bowlers from SWKDA tried their best, with Banrishisha and Rebeldalis both taking a wicket each, but they couldn’t prevent WKHDA from setting a challenging target.
In reply, SWKDA struggled to get going and managed to score only 59 runs for the loss of 1 wicket in 17.4 overs, falling short by a huge margin of 73 runs. Fulnessy and Indarikor were the only batsmen to reach double digits with 7 runs and 6 runs respectively. The bowlers from WKHDA were in top form, with Daiak leading the way, taking 4 wickets by conceding only 10 runs in her 4 overs. Emisakani also chipped in with 2 wickets, giving away just 9 runs in her 3 overs.
Daiak was deservedly awarded the Man of the Match for her outstanding bowling performance, helping WKHDA secure a convincing victory.
