HIM Sports League 2025 Concludes with Enthusiasm and Excellence at HIM International School

The HIM Sports League (HSL) 2025 Interschool Tournament concluded successfully at HIM International School, bringing together more than a dozen schools and hundreds of talented young athletes for two days of intense and spirited competition. Held on 21st and 22nd November, the tournament showcased events in Football, Badminton, Table Tennis, and Rifle Shooting across multiple age categories.

With 300+ participants on Day 1 and over 160 competitors on Day 2, HSL 2025 marked one of the largest interschool sporting gatherings in the region, transforming the campus into a vibrant hub of athletic energy, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Inspiring Ceremonies Mark the Event

The tournament opened with an inspiring address from Shri Chukhu Apa, IGP and President of the Arunachal Rifle Shooting Association, who administered the Oath of Fair Play and True Sportsmanship, setting the tone for the event.

The closing ceremony was graced by Shri Takam Pate, Assistant Director, Department of Secondary Education. He encouraged students to pursue excellence in sports and highlighted the significance of the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS). Shri Pate distributed prizes and formally declared the tournament closed.

Badminton: Skill and Determination on Display

Top performers in the badminton contests included:

  • Under-14 Boys: Sunil Jebisow, Kapani Jami Kham, Honi Nakum
  • Under-14 Girls: China Tamuk, Ami Flago, Kenyum Gasa
  • Under-19 Boys: Tassar Jarjo, Tai Shivam, Tunge Kali
  • Under-19 Girls: Joram Aachu, Marsum Bagra, Nabam Maya

Table Tennis: Thrilling Matches Across Categories

The table tennis events saw close contests and excellent performances:

  • Under-14 Boys: Nikja Tamangtang (HIM), Chau Kingsha Nokkew (SLSA), Bengia Mangha (Don Bosco)
  • Under-14 Girls: Charu Leeming (HIM), Tagru Yakar (HIM), Livya Aama (SLSA)
  • Under-19 Boys: Yucha Mipi (SLSA), Rei Lapang (Don Bosco), Abhrajit Shutradhar (DPS)
  • Under-19 Girls: Likha Yallam (SLSA), Pura Richa (HIM), Heri Rima (HIM)

Football: Royal International School Crowned Champions

In a nail-biting football final, Royal International School edged past Don Bosco School in a penalty shootout to clinch the championship title. Don Bosco settled for the runners-up position, while Lekhi Public School secured third place after a strong performance throughout the tournament.

Rifle Shooting: Precision and Excellence

Young shooters delivered outstanding results in the rifle shooting events:

  • Air Rifle: Pani Nyika, Pol Gab, Lummin Dubbi & Chemkai Ngodam
  • Standard Rifle: Dano Kopak, Bili Rina, Totul Gadi
  • Pistol Standard: Bomji Zirdo, Kemsom Bagra

A Festival of Sportsmanship and Team Spirit

Principals, coaches, and officials from participating schools joined the event, enhancing collaborative spirit and support. Umpires and match officials were felicitated for their essential contributions to ensuring fair play throughout the tournament.

HIM International School extended heartfelt gratitude to all participating schools, athletes, and supporters for making HSL 2025 a grand success. The school reaffirmed its commitment to fostering holistic development and strengthening sporting culture among young learners.
