Day Two of Hangpan Dada Memorial Trophy Sees Volleyball Action Begin Alongside Football League Matches

The second day of the 9th Edition State Level Hangpan Dada Memorial Trophy brought a packed schedule of football and volleyball fixtures across venues in Aalo, with teams from districts across Arunachal Pradesh in action throughout the day.

Volleyball competition officially got underway at Siyom Army Ground, where twelve matches were completed across the day. Football action continued in parallel, with ten boys’ league matches and eight girls’ league matches played.

In the boys’ football league, Namsai were awarded three points following a walkover against Bichom, while Lohit and Kurung Kumey shared the points in a goalless draw. Upper Subansiri posted a comfortable 5-0 win over Lower Dibang Valley, and Itanagar Capital defeated Pakke Kesang 3-0. Leparada cruised past Tirap 5-1, Keyi Panyor edged Shi-Yomi 2-1, and Kamle saw off Kra Daadi 2-0. East Kameng and Upper Siang shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw, as did Changlang and Lower Siang in a 1-1 stalemate, while Papum Pare eased past West Kameng 3-0.

The girls’ football fixtures produced several one-sided results: Kurung Kumey’s 6-1 win over Lower Dibang Valley was the day’s biggest margin, while West Siang beat Leparada 3-0 and Bichom defeated Tawang 3-0. Lower Siang edged East Siang 1-0, Kamle got past Anjaw 2-1, East Kameng beat Upper Siang 1-0, and Itanagar Capital saw off Lohit 1-0. Papum Pare and Tirap played out a goalless draw.

On the volleyball court, the boys’ league saw Kamle beat Siang 2-0, Lower Siang see off Changlang by the same margin, and West Siang edge Lohit 2-1. Papum Pare won in straight sets against Namsai, Upper Subansiri got past Leparada 2-1, and Tirap defeated Pakke Kesang 2-0. In the girls’ matches, Bichom beat Lower Subansiri 2-0, Lower Siang defeated Siang 2-0, Kra Daadi edged West Siang 2-1, and Kurung Kumey beat Kamle 2-0. Papum Pare won 2-0 over Changlang, while Longding completed a straight-sets win over Lower Dibang Valley.
