In a thrilling encounter at the Nurul Amin Stadium, the Assam State Electricity Board (ASEB) Sports Club of Guwahati outshone East Bengal FC of Kolkata, securing a 2-1 victory in the quarterfinal league of the All-India Invitational Independence Day Cup Prize Money Football Tournament. The remarkable performance by ASEB propelled them into the semifinals, earning them full points and accolades from football enthusiasts.
East Bengal FC had secured their spot in the semifinals with a dominant 6-1 victory in a prior match, defeating Global FC of Gosaigaon.
The intense showdown between these two formidable teams took place amidst the neon lights, providing a breathtaking spectacle for the fans in attendance. In a clash of strategies, ASEB managed to edge past their rivals to secure a well-deserved 2-1 victory.
The turning point of the match came just two minutes in when Bernaji, with a swift and precise strike, propelled his team into a 1-0 lead.
