All Assam State Ranking Tennis Tournament begins

The All Assam State Ranking Tennis Tournament organised by the Northeast Frontier Railway Sports Association (NFRSA) (Tennis Wing) got underway at NFRSA Lawn Tennis Complex, Maligaon, Guwahati today. The sporting event was inaugurated by the General Secretary/NFRSA and chief Personnel Officer/Industrial Relation of N.F. Railway, Shri Sasanka Sarmah, in presence of other officials of NFRSA.

This Table Tennis tournament will consist of event categories as under 10, 12, 14 & 18 years group for both boys and girls, Men’s Double, Veteran Men’s Double (above 45 years) and Mixed Double (Open). The five-day-long tournament will be concluded on 17th November 2023.

Participants hailing from every corner of Assam are gearing up to showcase their Table Tennis skills on the court. Approximately 200 players, along with five dedicated officials, are actively participating in the tournament, with representation from both men and women categories.

The five-day extravaganza promises intense competition and sportsmanship, with the grand finale scheduled for November 17, 2023. As the All Assam State Ranking Tennis Tournament unfolds, spectators and participants alike can expect a thrilling display of talent, camaraderie, and a celebration of tennis in the heart of Assam.
