The 9th State Level Hangpan Dada Memorial Football and Volleyball Tournament got underway at Aalo General Ground in West Siang District, bringing together young athletes from across Arunachal Pradesh for the U-16 Boys’ and Girls’ Football and Volleyball Championships.
Named in honour of Hangpan Dada, the tournament has grown into one of the state’s prominent youth sporting events, drawing teams from numerous districts to compete across both football and volleyball disciplines over the following days.
The opening day set the tone for what promised to be a closely contested edition, with league-stage fixtures scheduled across multiple venues in and around Aalo through the course of the tournament.
