Madrasa Hemayatul Islam Wins Inter School Under-15 Cricket Final Against Gorkha Pathshala H.S School

Madrasa Hemayatul Islam won the final match of the Inter School Under-15 cricket tournament 2022/23 against Gorkha Pathshala H.S School by five wickets. The match was held at the local cricket ground on Tuesday.

Madrasa Hemayatul Islam won the toss and chose to field first. Gorkha Pathshala H.S School scored 101 runs for the loss of four wickets in 15 overs. Manish Kr. Singh scored 32 runs in 26 balls, and Kushal Subba contributed 24 runs in 32 balls. Md. Wahid and Aminuddin took two wickets each for Madrasa Hemayatul Islam, giving away 11 and 24 runs respectively.

In reply, Madrasa Hemayatul Islam achieved their target in just 10.1 overs, scoring 102 runs for the loss of five wickets. Md. Wahid was the top scorer for the team with 42 runs in 23 balls, followed by Asif Ali who scored 11 runs in 16 balls. Pratik Chettri took three wickets for Gorkha Pathshala H.S School, giving away 11 runs in two overs, while Nikhil Thapa took one wicket, giving away 17 runs in three overs.

Md. Wahid was declared the Man of the Match for his all-round performance. He scored 42 runs and took two wickets, giving away just 11 runs in three overs.

Assam Government to Appoint 10 Medal Winners of National Games 2022 in Class III Posts

The Assam government has taken a decision to appoint 10 medal winners of the 36th National Games, 2022 in Class III posts under the Directorate of Sports and Youth Welfare. This decision was taken in the Cabinet Meeting held on Wednesday, April 19, and was announced by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

The decision was taken with the aim of encouraging the youth to pursue sports and recognizing the achievements of sportspersons who have brought laurels to the state. The appointments will be made as per the Integrated Sports Policy of Assam 2017-2018.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took to Twitter to share the details of the decision taken in the Cabinet meeting. He also shared the names of the 10 medal winners who will be appointed in the Class III posts.

The players who will be appointed in the Class III posts are Ananya Saikia (Silver and Bronze), Adnita Kakati (Silver), Ankushita Boro (Gold), Chayanika Gogoi (Two Silver), Sanma Brahma (Silver), Rongila Daimary (Silver), Bikram Changmai (Two Silver), Dipankar Sarmah (Bronze), Bangita Hazarika (Silver, Bronze) and Ananda Kumar Narzary (Gold, Bronze).

This decision by the Assam government is a step towards encouraging sports and recognizing the hard work and dedication of sportspersons in the state. It is hoped that this will inspire more young people to take up sports and make the state proud with their achievements.

South Asian Youth Table Tennis Championships 2023 to be held in Arunachal Pradesh

Table Tennis Arunachal is all set to host the South Asian Youth Table Tennis Championships 2023 in the Dorjee Khandu Badminton Hall, Rajbhawan, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh. The tournament will be held from 14th May 2023 to 17th May 2023.

The event is being organized under the auspices and authority of the Asian Table Tennis Union (ATTU) and the Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) with the support of Government of Aruanachal Pradesh. Stag Americas 16 tables, Stag 40+ balls, and Stag flooring will be used for the tournament. All racket coverings must be of the type currently authorized by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF).

The championship will have U19 Boys’ and Girls’ Teams, U15 Boys’ and Girls’ Teams, U19 Boys’ and Girls’ Singles, U15 Boys’ and Girls’ Singles, U19 Boys’ and Girls’ Doubles, U15 Boys’ and Girls’ Doubles, and U19 & U15 Mixed Doubles events. The team events will be held on the New Swaythling Cup System format, and the singles and doubles events will be played on a knock-out basis.

The hospitality committee will provide free boarding and lodging to not more than six players in the Boys’ and Girls’ sections, one manager and one coach accompanying the teams, and all members of the South Asian Table Tennis Federation (SATTF) Executive Committee, international umpires, and the Secretary/President of all six South Asian countries. Accompanying persons not listed on the official entry forms can be accommodated at a charge of US $60 per person per day in a Twin/Double room or US $90 per person per day in a Single Room, including meals and transport.

There will be no entry fees for any of the events, and the draw for all events will be held on 13th May 2023. Each association may nominate not more than four players each for the Boys team and Girls team events in the U19 category, not more than two players each for the U19 Boys Singles and U19 Girls Singles events, and not more than one pair each for Boys, Girls, and Mixed Doubles events. In the U15 category, each association may nominate not more than three players each for the Boys team and Girls team events, not more than two players each for the U15 Boys Singles and U15 Girls Singles events, and not more than one pair each for Boys, Girls, and Mixed Doubles events.

The South Asian Youth Championships 2023 is open to athletes satisfying the following two conditions: being born in 2004 or later to participate in U19 events and being born in 2008 or later to participate in U15 events and being eligible to represent their National Association according to rules 3.8 and 4.2.3 of the ITTF Handbook.

First Sansad Khel Spardha 2023 Concludes in Arunachal Pradesh with Papum Pare as Team Champion

The first-ever Sansad Khel Spardha 2023 came to a close in a grand manner at the Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) campus in Arunachal Pradesh. The three-day event was organized by the Arunachal Olympic Association (AOA) under the leadership of Er Taba Tedir and Bamang Tago as the President and Secretary-General, respectively. The event was held in collaboration with the state government and with the patronization of Union Minister for Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju.

The closing ceremony was graced by Nabam Rebia, Member of Parliament (RS), who was the chief guest. Mama Natung, Minister of Sports and Youth, was also present as a guest of honor, along with Director of Sports, Tadar Appa.

The winners in various sporting disciplines were awarded cash incentives of Rs 20,000, 15,000, and 10,000 for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions, respectively, along with medals and certificates. The winners of the group events were awarded cash incentives of Rs 60,000, 40,000, and 20,000 for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions, respectively. At the zonal level, cash incentives of Rs 10,000, 5,000, and 3,000 were awarded to the top three winners.

Papum Pare District emerged as the team champion of the 1st-ever Sansad Khel Spardha 2023. East Kameng was the 1st runners-up, and West Siang District was the 2nd runners-up. The AOA also awarded the Best Host District and Discipline District awards. Leparada District Olympic Association was awarded the “Best Host” among the five zones, and Tawang District Olympic Association was awarded the “Best Discipline” by the host AOA.

The Arunachal Olympic Association extended their thanks to Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Kiren Rijiju for providing an opportunity for budding youth to showcase their hidden talents. The event was a massive success, and it is expected to encourage more youths to participate in sports and represent their district in the future.

Arunachal ESports Organisation Hosts Successful Offline Gaming Tournament

The Arunachal ESports Organisation recently hosted a highly successful one-day Offline Esports Tournament at Hotel Obsidian Blue in Itanagar, with 12 teams participating in the event including No To Drugs (NTD), MAAF, Big Elites (BDE), Team Cry, Nine O’clock, Mane Hoga, Skadoosh, Jin Official, Rebigus Gaming, Team Nefa, Aneil Hunters, and Me Chuddy Buddy. The tournament was a great success, with overall 150 individual participants showcasing their impressive gaming skills throughout the day.

In the end, it was MAAF that emerged victorious as the winners of the tournament, while Team Cry and Team Nefa were the first and second runners-up, respectively.

The Tentha Khongbal Welfare Association (TKWA) Trophy-2023 kicked off on Saturday at Tentha Multiplex Ground with a thrilling match between G-5 and Mami Thawan. G-5 managed to edge past Mami Thawan by 2-1 goals in a closely fought contest between the two teams. The 9-a-side men’s tournament featuring 40 teams clubbed into 8 groups was inaugurated by former Minister Dr M Nara, and witnessed by Tentha Zilla Parishad nominee member Kh Priyojit, Pradhan of Tentha Gram Panchayat N Pradeep, Director in-charge of JN Dance Academy Imphal P Bilash, and president of District Football Association Thoubal M Mani as presidium members. The second Group A match between Yairipok FC and YPO-Sora was scheduled to take place on Sunday, followed by Soccer City-Pangei opening their Group B campaign with Old Star-Kyamgei from 3.10 pm and Salungpham FC taking on Lilong Haoreibi College from 4.20 pm in another Group B match.
