Anjaw Youth Rally for Sports, Not Drugs

With great enthusiasm and community spirit, the 1st Edition of the Volleyball Tournament 2025, organized by the Kherang Area Youth Association (KAYA), began today at the General Ground, Kherang, under the theme “Choose Sports, Not Drugs.”

The opening ceremony, held in collaboration with the District Sports Department, was graced by Shri Barum Massong, Senior Public Leader, as the Chief Guest. Also present were Shri Bajenso Kri, Chairman of Tezu Bazaar, and Shri Bredenso Yun, District Sports Officer (In-charge), Anjaw, as Guests of Honour.

In his address, Shri Barum Massong praised KAYA for organizing a tournament with a meaningful message. “This effort reflects the strength of our youth and the power of sports in shaping lives. It is vital that we create more such platforms that guide our youth away from harmful habits and towards constructive pursuits,” he said.

und of matches, where Khayampai team won against team Nuberee by 25/17, 22/25, 15/11. The tournament aims not only to promote volleyball but also to inspire the younger generation to lead active and disciplined lives.

Tournament Prize Details:

  • Winner: ₹50,000 + Trophy

  • Runner-Up: ₹25,000 + Trophy

  • Most Disciplined Team: ₹3,000 + Trophy

  • Player of the Tournament: ₹2,000 + Trophy

  • Emerging Player: ₹2,000 + Trophy

The tournament will run until 2nd August 2025, with teams battling it out for the coveted championship title in the grand finale scheduled at 11:00 AM on the final day. Through this spirited event, KAYA continues to champion youth engagement, unity, and a drug-free lifestyle—nurturing a stronger, healthier community one match at a time.
