In a proud moment for Assam, three young athletes from the state have been selected to represent India in the upcoming Junior World Cup Rollball Championship to be held in Nairobi, Kenya from 22nd June, 2025. The players—BP Hindu (Veer), Dhanistha Kashyap, and Kristina Shaharia—have earned their spots in the national squad following a rigorous selection process.
Additionally, Sis Santholia from Assam has been named in the standby list, highlighting the state’s growing prominence in this fast-emerging sport.

Before heading to Kenya, the selected players will attend the Indian national training camp in Pune from June 5 to June 21. The camp will serve as the final phase of preparation for the championship, providing players with an opportunity to fine-tune their skills and build team synergy.
Bhumidhar Barman, Secretary of The Assam Rollball Association extended its best wishes to the players, expressing pride in their achievement and confidence in their performance on the global stage.
Rollball, a sport that originated in India in 2003, combines elements of roller skating, basketball, and handball. Known for its emphasis on balance, speed, and precision, it has rapidly gained popularity worldwide. Out of over 60 countries where Rollball is played, 54 are officially recognized by their respective governments and affiliated with the International Rollball Federation.
As the countdown to the championship begins, the spotlight is on these talented players from Assam to shine on the world stage and bring glory to the nation.
