Organized by the Basketball Federation of India, the tournament will take place at the Karmabir Nabin Chandra Bordoloi AC Indoor Stadium, Sarusajai Sports Complex, Guwahati, from 18 to 24 March, 2025. The event will bring together top young basketball talents from across the country, providing a platform to showcase their skills and passion for the sport.
Intensive Training and Selection Process
Donyi E. Ori, President, and Umesh Bagang, General Secretary of the Arunachal Pradesh Basketball Association, expressed their pride in the team’s participation in this prestigious championship. They shared that the boys’ team has undergone an intensive 15-day training camp at Donyi Basketball Court, Lower Borum Village, Naharlagun to ensure they are well-prepared for the competition.
“It is a proud moment for Arunachal Pradesh to participate in the first-ever U-23 National Championship. Our players have put in tremendous effort, and we are confident that they will give their best performance on the national stage,” said Donyi.
He further emphasized the selection process, stating, “Seventy percent of the players were selected through tournaments organized by the association, while the remaining thirty percent were scouted based on their skills and potential. We have carefully chosen the best talent, and we expect them to perform at their highest level.“
While the boys’ team is all set for the championship, Arunachal Pradesh will not be sending a girls’ team this year due to ongoing academic examinations, making it challenging for players to participate.
