Khelo India ASMITA City League for Judo Concludes Successfully at Sangay Lhaden Sports Academy

The Khelo India ASMITA City League for Judo concluded successfully today at the Judo Hall of Sangay Lhaden Sports Academy (SLSA), following two days of intense competition. The event, which began on March 15, 2025, saw enthusiastic participation from judokas representing the Khelo India Centre of Excellence (KICSE), SLSA, and the Khelo India Centre at Judo Hall Khonsa, Tirap.

The league provided a valuable platform for athletes to showcase their skills and compete at a high level, promoting sportsmanship and excellence. After the final matches, a medal ceremony was held to honor the winners for their exceptional performances.

Gumpi Bam Karbak, renowned singer graced the closing ceremony as the chief guest. During the medal ceremony, she was joined by Harnam Singh, High Performance Manager; Utpal Phukan, Head Coach of Judo; K. Ranjan Singh, Head Coach of Weightlifting; Dr. Yombom Bam, Nutritionist; and Neelam Yapi, Physiotherapist, who all presented medals and certificates to the winners, recognizing their hard work and achievements.

Results : 

In the -40 Kg category, Raki Mane from KICSE, SLSA secured the Gold medal, while Nikja Mamnam, also from KICSE, SLSA, claimed the Silver. The Bronze medal was awarded to Pongam Pansa from KIC, Tirap.

In the -44 Kg category, Nang Nishani Khen of KICSE, SLSA won the Gold medal, with Tadar Pari from KICSE, SLSA earning the Silver. The Bronze medals were awarded to Jum Jabasow and Litse Sumnyam, from KICSE, SLSA, and KIC, Tirap, respectively.

In the -48 Kg category, Monjula Marai from KICSE, SLSA took home the Gold, while Chumto Lamkhu, also from KICSE, SLSA, claimed the Silver. The Bronze medal went to Kayal Milli, also from KICSE, SLSA.

For the -52 Kg category, Bakey Meme from KICSE, SLSA secured the Gold, with Rumi Tekseng, also from KICSE, SLSA, earning the Silver. The Bronze medals were awarded to Jiyamlu Ngadong from KICSE, SLSA and Phangcha Phuksa from KIC, Tirap.

In the -57 Kg category, Ngoingem Bo from KICSE, SLSA won the Gold, while Pona Jenchen, also from KICSE, SLSA, claimed the Silver. The Bronze medals went to Chapho Hakhun and Nang Anjali Longkan, both from KICSE, SLSA.

In the +57 Kg category, Luna Techi Tara from KICSE, SLSA took home the Gold, while Tunu Gamlin, also from KICSE, SLSA, earned the Silver. The Bronze medal was awarded to Sherap Lhamu, also from KICSE, SLSA.

Looking ahead, the next event in the ASMITA City League will be the Archery competition, scheduled for March 18th-19th, 2025. Archers from District Level Khelo India Centres in Tawang, Anini, East Siang, and Lower Subansiri, along with participants from KISCE and SLSA, will compete in this exciting event.
