The District Level Athletics Meet was successfully held at the Don Bosco School Ground in Soreng Malbasey, organized by the Soreng District Athletic Association with support from Sun Pharma Laboratories Ltd. Sikkim and Stars of Hope.
The event, which kicked off with the shot put competition, featured a variety of athletic disciplines, including track events, long jump, javelin, and discus throw. The meet not only showcased the athletic abilities of the participants but also emphasized the importance of teamwork, dedication, and fair play.
Schools from across the district participated with great zeal and enthusiasm. The participants were categorized into age groups—Under 14, 16, 18, and Open categories. The selected athletes from this event will go on to represent the district at the State Athletics Meet 2025, to be held at Khel Gaon, Reshithang, Ranka Gangtok.
The event concluded with each athlete giving their best performance. The winners were awarded medals and certificates in recognition of their efforts.
In honor of the ‘International Year of the Cooperatives,’ the Cooperation Department also extended financial support, alongside contributions from individuals across the district, ensuring the successful completion of this event.
