Pema Khandu Attends 2nd National Floor Curling Championship Closing Ceremony

Itanagar, May 21, 2023 – The closing ceremony of the highly anticipated 2nd National Floor Curling Championship took place yesterday at the DK Convention Hall in Itanagar. The event witnessed the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Shri Pema Khandu, and Rajya Sabha member Shri Rebia Nabam. The ceremony was further graced by the attendance of Padma Shri Olympian Shri Yogeshwar Dutt and the Executive Chairperson of Religare Enterprises Limited, Dr Rashmi Saluja.

The championship, organized under the banner of the Curling Federation of India, saw remarkable success due to the efforts of the Arunachal Pradesh Curling Association. With around 400 athletes from 14 states participating, the event showcased exceptional talent and fierce competition.

During the closing ceremony, Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Pema Khandu expressed his appreciation for the Arunachal Pradesh Curling Association‘s successful organization of the championship. He commended the association for their dedication and efforts in promoting curling in the region. Additionally, CM Khandu extended his special appreciation to Team Andhra Pradesh and the host state, Arunachal Pradesh, for securing the highest number of medals in the championship.

Padma Shri Olympian Shri Yogeshwar Dutt, a renowned figure in the field of wrestling, was also present at the ceremony. His presence added a touch of prestige and inspiration to the event. Dr Rashmi Saluja, the Executive Chairperson of Religare Enterprises Limited, graced the occasion with her distinguished presence, further enhancing the significance of the championship.

The 2nd National Floor Curling Championship not only showcased the talent and skills of the participating athletes but also served as a platform to promote the sport in Arunachal Pradesh and the entire nation. The successful organization of the championship by the Arunachal Pradesh Curling Association has further fueled enthusiasm and interest in curling across the state.

With the closing ceremony marking the end of an exhilarating championship, participants and spectators alike left with a sense of pride and accomplishment. The event not only highlighted the passion for sports in Arunachal Pradesh but also served as a reminder of the immense potential of Indian athletes in various disciplines.
