The 1st Sub-Junior, Junior, and Senior (Boys and Girls) State Wushu (Sanda) Championship, organized by the Nagaland Wushu Association (NWA) in collaboration with the Department of Youth Resources and Sports (DYRS), concluded today at the Pele Khezhie Indoor Stadium, Kohima. The two-day event, held from October 28–29, 2025, witnessed enthusiastic participation from districts across the state.

Attending the closing and prize distribution ceremony as the special guest, Kudecho Khamo, Advisor for CAWD and Taxes and President of the NWA, lauded the players for their discipline and determination. He emphasized that sports offer vast career opportunities and called upon athletes to pursue their goals with dedication and consistency.

Khamo further acknowledged the growing popularity of Wushu in Nagaland, despite limited infrastructure and training facilities. He noted that Nagaland athletes have already achieved success at regional levels, including the Northeast Olympic Games, and assured continued support from the NWA toward developing the sport in the state.

Expressing appreciation for parents, district associations, and the DYRS, Khamo encouraged collective efforts to nurture young talent and promote sports as a viable profession.
