The Sikkim Premier League’s inaugural final has been rescheduled for April 8, according to organizers. Originally slated for April 2, the match was postponed due to technical difficulties. The final will feature Sikkim Aakraman Sporting Club and Singling Sporting Club at Paljor Stadium, with the game taking place under floodlights.

During a press conference, members of Football Development Private Limited (FDPL), Nim Tshering Lepcha and Sanju Pradhan, expressed their satisfaction with the tournament’s success in providing a significant platform for local players and promoting club culture in Sikkim. FDPL member Nirmal Chettri added that the league had also provided financial benefits and exposure to local players, with professional clubs from Kolkata scouting several players from the league.

FDPL member Bikash Jairu urged football enthusiasts and people from Sikkim to attend the final with their families to support their respective teams, motivate and inspire local clubs and players, and encourage children to take up sports.

The FDPL announced that they plan to select a team of 25 footballers from the Sikkim Premier League for an exposure tour outside the state, as well as conduct grassroots football development activities and a women’s league in the coming days.
