Assam CM inaugurates groundbreaking sports training center in Jorhat.

In a momentous occasion for the sporting landscape of Assam, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated the Sports Training Centre for Developing Training and Rehabilitation in Jorhat today. The centre, a high-performance sports training and rehabilitation facility, is set to be a game-changer for budding talents and athletes across the state. What makes this initiative even more remarkable is the financial support it received from Oil India Limited (OIL) and Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) under their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs.

The induction ceremony was graced by a distinguished gathering, which included prominent individuals such as Ajanta Neog, who serves as the Minister of Finance, Women & Child Development in Assam; Tapan Kumar Gogoi, a Member of Parliament representing Jorhat; Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha; Hitendra Nath Goswami, the MLA of Jorhat; Rupjyoti Kurmi, representing Mariani as an MLA; Dr. Ranjit Rath, who holds the positions of CMD at OIL and Chairman at NRL; Bhaskar Jyoti Phukan, the Managing Director of NRL; Pooja Suri, serving as an Independent Director at OIL; and Atindra Roychoudhury, holding the role of RCE at OIL.

The Centre for Developing Sports Training and Rehabilitation in Jorhat is being operated and executed under the technical expertise of none other than Olympic Gold Medalist and Ace shooter Abhinav Bindra’s Abhinav Futuristics Pvt. Ltd. This collaboration adds an invaluable layer of professional experience to the facility’s operations.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed his excitement about the new sports center, emphasizing its significance for Assam’s sporting future. He applauded the support extended by OIL and NRL and underlined the transformative role that the center will play in the state’s sporting landscape.
