Bokakhat Women’s Cricket Team Wins Kanaklata Barua Women’s Inter-District Cricket Tournament 2023

The women’s cricket team of Bokakhat has emerged victorious in the Kanaklata Barua Women’s Inter-District Cricket Tournament 2023. The team’s hard work and dedication paid off as they defeated Dibrugarh by 9 wickets in the final match held at the Dibrugarh District Sports Association Stadium.

Opting to field first, Bokakhat’s bowlers put up a brilliant performance, restricting Dibrugarh to a meager score of 46/10 in 22.4 overs. Rashmi Dey was the star performer for Bokakhat, picking up three wickets for just three runs, while Pallak Kumari claimed two wickets for two runs. Gayatri Gurung was the lone fighter for Dibrugarh, scoring 13 runs.

Chasing a small target of 47 runs, Bokakhat’s Avantika Munda and Tinamoni Patgiri got the team off to a good start, adding 30 runs for the first wicket. Uma Chetry and Tinamoni Patgiri then took the team over the line, with Bokakhat winning the match in just 12.1 overs.

Rashmi Dey was adjudged the player of the final for her impressive figures of 6-4-3-3. She was also named the player of the tournament for her all-round performance, scoring 198 runs and taking 10 wickets in the tournament. Gayatri Gurung of Dibrugarh was awarded the best batter award for scoring 235 runs, while Rima Pegu of Bokakhat was named the best bowler for picking up 12 wickets.

The win is a great achievement for women’s cricket in Assam and is sure to inspire the future generation of women cricketers. Congratulations to the Bokakhat women’s cricket team for their well-deserved win!
